Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of AYUSH, Prataprao Jadhav, stated this in a written reply to Unstarred Question No. 3425 in the Lok Sabha regarding the promotion of AYUSH systems in Jammu. As per the reply, accessed by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Ministry of AYUSH has been implementing the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National Ayush Mission (NAM) since 2014 through State/UT Governments, including Jammu and Kashmir, and supports their efforts through financial assistance for infrastructure development, supply of medicines and other activities as per NAM guidelines. The Ministry said the assistance is provided against proposals received through State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs). As per Annexure-I, Government Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, Akhnoor has been listed as a major project in Jammu district, while a 50-bedded Integrated Ayush Hospital at Nonath, Samba, has also been listed among the projects implemented. The government has further listed 56 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in Jammu, 14 in Samba, 18 in Reasi and 33 in Rajouri under the stream-wise programmes and projects. Ayush Public Health Programmes have also been implemented across the four districts. The reply further stated that the government has adopted an integrated strategy of co-location of Ayush facilities at Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs) and District Hospitals (DHs), enabling patients to choose different systems of medicine under a single-window service. As reported by the Jammu and Kashmir government, 77 PHCs, two CHCs, four DHs and one Associated Hospital in the Jammu Parliamentary Constituency have co-located Ayush facilities. At these facilities, Ayush services, including free Ayush medicines under the National Ayush Mission, are being provided through Ayush doctors and pharmacists engaged under the National Health Mission (NHM), the government said—(KNO)
